Telephonic Interview Tips



In some times, telephone interviews are a way for recruiters to Screen the candidates. In some cases recruiters will conduct the total Interview over the phone. 

Tips for Telephone Interview: 

1. Better to use Landlines. Because of mobile services sometimes creates problem. It creates disturbance for employers to conduct interviews if the call breaks up sometimes or is dropped completely. If don’t have a land line at your home, then make sure that you are in an area with good cell phone service are possible. Make the process runs as smooth as possible. 

2. Keep materials with you. These include your resume, notes about your career objective and if possible carry your cover letter. A pen and pad of paper for note taking and anything that you think may be helpful during the process of interview. 

3. Select a place. Find a silent place to interview and stay there. There should not be any noise to disturb you. However the questions can be can be tricky if you have children at your home, maintain some distance to them. When you confirm your interview appointment, try to schedule it for your free time.

4. Speak clearly and slowly. When you speak to people at the time of face to face interview we can understand by their lip movement. So in Telephonic interview speak clearly and slowly to understand him.

5.Way of presenting. Don’t give any chances of jokes , maintain your professionalism. That gives you a lot of confidence.

6. No eating or chewing gum. Make yourself perfect, don’t eat and chew at the time of interview. Because it create disturbance to the recruit.

JOB INTERVIEW TIPS

Interview gives you the chance to showcase your qualifications to the recruiter.
 Prepare yourself:
  • Know about the organization.
  • Have a specific job position in mind.
  •  Cross check your qualifications for the job.
  • Be ready to explain about your experience, and show that how it relates to the job.
  • Be ready to answer their questions, such as Why should I hire you? , how long do you work with us? , What are your strengths and weaknesses?
  • Practice mock interviews with a relatives or friends.

Personal appearance:
  • Appear with well groomed and dress appropriately.
  • Do not chew gum. 
At the time of Interview:
  • Be as early as possible.
  • Know the name of your interviewer and greet him or her with a handshake.
  • Use good manners with everyone at interview.
  • Listen and answer each question properly.
  • Use proper grammatical English and avoid slang.
  • Be cooperative to their process.
  • Use your body language to show interest, make good eye contact.
  • Ask doubts about the position and the organization, but avoid questions whose answers be found on their company Web site.
  • Avoid asking questions about salary and benefits.
  • Thank the interviewer when you leave the hall with shake hands.
